The CIAS thanks our growing network of sponsors and community partners for their support in building a culture of cybersecurity in classrooms nationwide. Our amazing sponsors have helped donate 108,500+ cybersecurity card games to classrooms worldwide… and it continues to reach more students each month. Additionally, these classroom sets are being used by educators year-after-year with students in multiple grades at a time, which means potentially hundreds of thousands of students have – and continue to – play the game!

Sponsoring the K-12 Cyber Journey Program

There are three types of opportunities you can take to help players gain critical cybersecurity skills and the knowledge needed for a career in cybersecurity fields with Cyber Threat games: donating classroom sets (of any K-12 game) directly to schools; developing a Cyber Threat Defender custom booster pack to complement classroom sets in middle and high school; and sponsoring CTD: Digital with in-game ads and/or videos.

Classroom Sets

Classroom sets, of any Cyber Threat game, can be donated to classrooms and schools in a specific community or to teachers on a waiting list for decks. Educators on the waiting list, which have requested classroom sets, may be located anywhere in the U.S. Sponsorship can be secured through an online portal at CIAS.store.

Booster Packs

When sponsoring a Cyber Threat Defender booster pack, sponsors are providing 40 classroom sets/boxes of both CTD Starter Decks and their personalized Booster Packs to schools. These booster packs feature one custom playable card that promotes the sponsor, along with fact cards about their organization.

CTD: Digital

Sponsors can support the continued development of the digital game and promote their organization by adding their logo in pre-designated locations within the game; placing display ads on the game play screen; and incorporating incentive videos into the game that help players gain more points and collect more digital cards.

Designed to be both fun and educational, the Cyber Threat games continue to provide a low-cost, low-tech method for teaching cybersecurity in as little as 20 minutes! These simple games provide varying levels of complexity to support teachers in their efforts to develop cybersecurity awareness and defense strategies in elementary, middle and high schools. Your support enables the CIAS to produce and distribute classrooms sets at no cost to middle and high school teachers!

Classroom sets provided to educators may include Cyber Threat Guardian (grades K-2), Cyber Threat Protector (grades 3-5) or Cyber Threat Defender (grades 6-12). Sponsors may designate which grade levels or specific schools and/or classrooms they want to provide classrooms sets; if a sponsor does not have a preference, then classroom sets are provided to K-12 teachers on the CIAS waitlist or by request.

Note: One classroom set of Cyber Threat Defender can support up to 25 students per class, and one classroom set of either Cyber Threat Guardian or Cyber Threat Protector can support up to 30 students per class.

Cyber Threat Defender: Digital Sponsorship Levels

Free to download, Cyber Threat Defender: Digital provides students with the opportunity to learn the basics of cybersecurity in a fun and engaging platform that will prepare them for a future in cybersecurity. As students interface with the game’s AI, they can earn digital currency when they win rounds or watch in-game videos. By earning in-game currency, players can “purchase” booster cards to strategically build up their digital decks to create strong cyber defenses.

There are three primary ways sponsors can support this unique form of cyber education:

  • Videos: (1) Introduction “commercials” that play automatically when the game is launched and (2) incentive videos that players can watch at any time during the game to receive digital points that allow them to “purchase” additional cards for their decks.

  • Display Ads: These ads appear on the left-hand side of the game board screen and rotate with other ads during each new round of play. Ads can be clicked to take the player to a website of the advertisers choosing.

  • Logos: A sponsor’s logo can be placed in the Game Setup screen or center of the game board, which rotates in and out between each player’s turn.
